Sometimes people get the impression that loom knitting is a lesser art, suitable only for children and beginners. I have a totally different viewpoint. The loom is a tool like any other. Beginners will use it to create basic garments and learn skills. In the hands of an expert, the possibilities are rich and unlimited. An added advantage is that the skill uses different muscles than needle knitting which sometimes makes it possible to use it as a therapy tool whether recovering from a physical or brain injury. I am a skilled hand and machine knitter but I still enjoy loom knitting because it seems not to exacerbate my tendency to repetitive strain syndrome.
