This method of creating fur trim on Passaps was created to substitute for a knit-waving technique used in a capelet in my Circular Logic book.

ALTERNATE FUR TRIM METHOD: use this for Passaps In cases where knit-weaving is not workable, add fur trim after completing the capelet. Knit using the instructions but skipping any knit- weaving. Then cast on 4 needles with furry yarn using every 3rd needle and the double e-wrap cast on. Hang a heel grip or one of the heavy forks from my Cheap Tricks book. Substantial weight is essential to suc- cess. Also. pick a fur yarn with a smooth. slim. strong center core. Lion Fun Fur is one of the most successful. Hang 2 stitches from the capelet edge on left 2 nee- dles. Hang the edge at spacing along it that corresponds to the distance between the needles. Knit 4 rows. Hang another 2 edge stitches on two left needles, always spacing the areas hung to match the distance between the needles. . Knit 4 rows. 6 rows may be used rather than 4 to get a looser fluffier edge. Proceed around the capelet in this manner.
